The SYFL places children on teams based on the high school the child is zoned to attend. All players, new or returning, must submit proof of residency. Instructions for submitting proof of residency can be found in the confirmation email. A child can play out of zone if the zoned team is full or a zoning waiver has been granted (written requests for waiver required, please email execboard@gosyfl.com for more information). If you are not sure which high school your child is zoned to attend, you can look it up at http://www.washoe.k12.nv.us/schools/school-zoning-search/zoning-information.
The Sierra Youth Football League offers full contact football and cheerleading for children ages 5-14, through the 8th grade. Games are played on high school football fields. Our youths participate with their peers based on age, not weight. All healthy athletes at all levels of ability are encouraged to participate. There are no try-outs or cuts. Athletes participate on teams based on the high school they are zoned to attend. SEND PROOF OF ADDRESS (Mortgage Statement or Lease agreement AND a copy of students infinite campus. If your child does not attend a school that has infinite campus you will need to provide proof of registration to their school) TO execboard@gosyfl.com WITH IN TEN DAYS OF REGISTRATION.
Registration Fee includes A personalized jersey to keep for football players and a full custom fit uniform, shoes, and poms included for cheerleaders. All participants keep their jerseys and cheer uniforms.
Early bird registration prices: If you are registering one athlete the registration fee is $225. If you are registering 2+ athletes the registration fee is $210 dollars per athlete.
Please follow the instructions for payment. You may only register one athlete at a time, but can use the same parent account to register them
Most teams are full by June 1st, so the sooner you can register, the better.
